Description

IRBIS Almazka combines classic geometry, drop point and high blade reliability. It is made of traditional materials that provide wide functionality. The barrel-shaped handle made of walnut provides a firm and strong grip. Aggressive cut, flexibility and durability, these features allow you to work even on cold days in the extreme north!
The blade is made of special HW5 steel, which is popularly called Almazka, “diamond” or “diamond steel”. With proper heat treatment, steel achieves a hardness of 63-65 HRC, which is comparable to that of cast iron. The closest analogue to diamond is the popular Japanese VG-10 alloy, which has historically been used to create swords. The main elements are chromium, carbon and tungsten. The optimal ratio between them ensures a high-performance blade.
The handle is made of durable nut, it is not sensitive to extreme temperatures, dry and wet weather.
